Malika Zeghal, Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Professor in Contemporary Islamic Thought and Life and CMES Steering Committee member, was a guest last night (Monday, January 18th, 2011) on Charlie Rose where she discussed the recent events in Tunisia. Professor Zeghal, a French-born Tunisian who joined Harvard's faculty in Fall 2010, discusses the economic underpinnings of the Tunisian protests, the role the army has played in defending demonstrators against the police, and the relationship between France and President Ben Ali's government.
