Ayse Tugba Silahtar Subasi

Ayse Tugba Silahtar Subasi graduated from Bogazici University, Department of History, in 2018. After her graduation, she started her master's studies in the same department and received her degree in 2021. Her thesis included Koca Mustafa Pasa region of Ottoman Constantinople in the sixteenth century. She investigated the city borders through pious endowment registers. Right now, Tugba is doing her PhD studies in the History Department of Brandeis University, and her current interests include urbanity and city borders in the early modern Ottoman Empire. Her current research focuses on the Ottoman capital of Konstantiniyye in the late fifteenth and early sixteenth centuries, and the units that form the city, as well as the physical borders such as city walls.
