Teagan Cameron
PhD Candidate in History and Middle East Studies
Teagan entered the joint program in History and Middle Eastern Studies in 2024. Her research focusses on the Ottoman janissary corps and transformations in its social role and identity in the early modern period. More broadly, her research interests include Ottoman urban society and literary life, particularly in the seventeenth century. Before coming to Harvard, Teagan received her BA (Hons) in History from the University of Alberta in 2022 and her MA in Near and Middle Eastern Civilizations from the University of Toronto in 2024. When she is not working on her academic endeavours, Teagan regularly attends local concerts and enjoys spending time on her bicycle.
