Richard Cozzens
Richard Cozzens has been teaching Arabic for over ten years in a variety of institutions. He received his A.B. in Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations and Music from Harvard and has lived at length in Syria and Jordan for study and work. Mr. Cozzens holds an Ed.M. degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where he studied experiential pedagogy and classroom dynamics. In addition to teaching Arabic at universities and schools, he has directed the STARTALK Arabic Summer Academy in Boston since 2011. His professional interests include second language acquisition, developing curricular materials for various levels of proficiency, and Arabic literature and music. Mr. Cozzens is devoted to practicing a rigorous language pedagogy that promotes precision, depth, and communicative competence.
