Hasibe Akın Demir

Hasibe Akın graduated with a bachelor's degree in architecture from Istanbul Technical University (İTÜ) in 2012 and completed her master's thesis in İTÜ's Architectural Design Program. She is currently writing her doctoral thesis in the İTÜ Landscape Architecture PhD Program. Awarded the Fulbright Doctoral Visiting Researcher (VSR) Scholarship, she was selected as a "climate change expert." Invited to Harvard University under Professor Gareth Doherty's sponsorship, she will develop her doctoral research between September 2024 and September 2025. Before coming to the United States, she was selected as ASLA (American Society of Landscape Architecture) Game Changer and WxLA (Woman in Landscape Architecture) Scholar supported by LAF (Landscape Architecture Foundation). Founder of the impact-driven design studio Çatı Çiftliği, she integrates nature-based solutions into (1) architecture, landscape architecture, and urban design projects, (2) educational program, (3) products.
