My research covers a range between the 16th and 20th centuries. My regional specialization focuses on Ottoman Arab geography, especially Ottoman Palestine. In addition to these, I focus on Ottoman and Safavid Shiism. Some of my interests are associated with the foundation institution. Thus, broad connections emerge in my research and the opportunity to explore multiple regions and communities. I focus my research on Ottoman archives (tahrir, şer'iye registers, mühimme, etc.), chronicles, and manuscripts, and is based especially on primary sources in Ottoman Turkish, Arabic, and Persian.
