Haley Stramel joined the Center for Middle Eastern Studies as Graduate and Alumni Programs Administrator at at the end in spring of 2024. Haley serves as the primary administrative manager for our academic programs. She is the secondary program advisor and thesis process coordinator for the CMES AM Regional Studies Master’s program, and the administrator for the CMES joint PhD programs in history, anthropology, and history of art and architecture. Additionally, she is responsible for engaging with our network of over 900 alumni and coordinating the selection and payment process for CMES graduate student travel awards.

Haley brings a well-rounded background in higher education with five years of experience managing student-focused roles at Northeastern University. Her responsibilities have included a large advising caseload, event planning, administrative operations, and cross-departmental collaboration, always keeping student success at the forefront. Haley has developed strong skills in coordinating short-term, faculty-led study abroad programs, including handling logistical and administrative tasks and addressing issues as they arise. Haley is detail-oriented, process-driven, and committed to fostering a collaborative, engaging learning environment. Her background in international relations and higher education makes her a strong fit for the CMES Graduate and Alumni Programs Administrator role as she has a BA from Boston University in International Relations and Linguistics and a master of education in higher education administration from Northeastern University.
