Don Babai

Don Babai (PhD, University of California, Berkeley) specializes in the political economy of the Gulf countries. He is currently working on a book on business-state relations in Saudi Arabia and is also finishing editing a festschrift, consisting of twelve essays dealing with various aspects of Middle East economic history, in honor of the late Roger E. Owen. His recent published works include encyclopedia articles on business ethics in the Middle East and on the international development policy known as the “Washington Consensus.” He has published works on international economic organizations, including the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, and the World Trade Organization.
