Abdulla Almarzooqi

Abdulla Almarzooqi is an AM candidate in Middle Eastern Studies at Harvard University. He holds a BA from NYU Abu Dhabi, where he majored in business and minored in economics, Middle Eastern studies, and art history. He has interned at Emaar, DIFC Authority, and Wasl. He has served as a Cultural Ambassador with the NYU Abu Dhabi Student Life Office helping to bridge the gap between students and the broader UAE community. He has co-founded NYU Abu Dhabi’s first student-led Arabic publication, Alnakheel Magazine. He has delivered talks at the Abrahamic Scriptures Conference, University of Copenhagen; the Language Matters Symposium, NYU Abu Dhabi; and the Intercultural Leadership Conference, Bahcesehir University Istanbul. He volunteers with the Emirates Red Crescent. He speaks Arabic and English fluently. He speaks basic French and is currently learning Turkish. He was born and raised in Dubai. His research interests include 19th and 20th century history of the Arabian Peninsula, evolving national identities in the Arabian Peninsula, and Islamic art.
