Adel Omar Sherif, deputy chief justice of the Supreme Constitutional Court of Egypt visited Harvard Law School on Thursday, April 14, 2011 for a panel discussion entitled "The Nile Revolution: Constitutional Promises and Challenges." CMES Director and Professor of Islamic Religious Studies Baber Johansen and A.J. Meyer Professor of Middle East History Roger Owen were among the chairs and respondents for the panel, which was co-sponsored by the Islamic Legal Studies Program, the Provost’s Fund for Interdisciplinary Research, the CMES Workshop on the Social Sciences in Egypt, the Center for Middle Eastern Studies Outreach Center, the International Law Journal, and the Middle East Law Students Association.
