"The Ascendant Field: Critical Engagements with Ottoman Arabic Literature," edited by Ghayde Ghraowi and Hacı Osman Gündüz (Ozzy), a special issue of Philological Encounters 7, no. 3-4, is now available from Brill. The issue grew out of a workshop that Ghayde, PhD candidate in Arabic humanities in the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations at Yale, and our own Ozzy Gündüz, PhD candidate in NELC at Harvard, organized at Harvard in October 2020. The workshop was co-sponsored by CMES, NELC, and the Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Islamic Studies Program at Harvard. In addition to coediting the issue, Ghraowi and Gündüz both contributed research articles. See the complete special issue of Philological Encounters on the Brill website.
