Professor of History, Dickinson College
David Commins is Professor of History and the Benjamin Rush Distinguished Chair in Liberal Arts and Sciences at Dickinson College. His publications include Islamic Reform: Politics and Social Change in Late Ottoman Syria, Historical Dictionary of Syria, The Wahhabi Mission and Saudi Arabia, The Gulf States: A Modern History, and Islam in Saudi Arabia. He earned his BA at the University of California, Berkeley and his PhD from the University of Michigan.
