David Commins
Professor of History, Dickinson College

David Commins is Professor of History and the Benjamin Rush Distinguished Chair in Liberal Arts and Sciences at Dickinson College. His publications include Islamic Reform: Politics and Social Change in Late Ottoman SyriaHistorical Dictionary of Syria, The Wahhabi Mission and Saudi Arabia, The Gulf States: A Modern History, and Islam in Saudi Arabia. He earned his BA at the University of California, Berkeley and his PhD from the University of Michigan.
