Murat Güvenç
Professor of Sociology, Kadir Has University

Prof. Güvenç was the youngest member of the METU planning team who prepared the structure plan for Ankara 2015 and worked in several urban research projects on the social and Economic Geography of Istanbul including The Development of Greater Istanbul Metropolitan Area and Low Cost Housing (sponsored  by the IDRC of Canada). Professor Güvenç taught  undergraduate and graduate courses on Urban Geography, Urban Sociology, Planning Theory, Migration, Methodology, in Middle East Technical University, Istanbul Bilgi University, Istanbul Şehir and Bosphorous Universities. His academic interests concentrate on intra-metropolitan industrial geography, urban history and data visualization. He was the economic and social geography curator of  the Istanbul 1910-2010 exposition, sponsored under the Istanbul 2010 European Cultural Capital of Europe program.
