Jennifer L. Derr is an associate professor of History at the University of California at Santa Cruz. Her research interests include Colonial and Post-colonial Middle Eastern history, environmental history, history of science, history of medicine, and critical geography. She received her Ph.D. in History from Stanford University, her M.A. in Contemporary Arab Studies at Georgetown University, and her B.S. in Biological Sciences at Stanford University.
