As recent geopolitical shifts in the Middle East expand international focus on the countries of the Arabian Peninsula, including Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Kuwait, CMES has broadened its Middle East Studies curriculum with the launch of the Arabian Peninsula Studies Lecture Series. By hosting one speaker each year, this lecture series will cover as many of the disciplines in the humanities and social sciences as possible and encourage faculty and students in the study of the countries of the Arabian Peninsula.
