This 2014 historical fictional war drama from Russell Crowe, stars Crowe as an Australian farmer who travels to Turkey in 1919 to try to locate his three missing sons, known to have fought against the Turks in the bloody Battle of Gallipoli. Arriving in Istanbul, he is thrust into a vastly different world, where he encounters others who have suffered their own losses in the conflict, including a Turkish officer who fought against his boys. With seemingly insurmountable obstacles in his path, he must travel across the battle-scarred Turkish landscape to find the truth. (112 minutes).


CMES will also be screening the 1981 Peter Weir film Gallipoli on Wednesday, October 7, 6:00-7:30 pm, at CMES, Room 102.
