Ryan is a second year master’s candidate at the Center for Middle Eastern Studies. He graduated from The United States Military Academy at West Point in 2010 with a concentration in Arabic language, and was commissioned as an officer in the Army. Ryan's most recent assignments have focused on north and west Africa where he has worked extensively with the US State Department and underrepresented populations to combat the threat of violent extremism. Ryan is currently focused on Persian language and Iranian foreign policy in preparation for his next assignment as an instructor at West Point.
