Eyüp Aygün Tayşir

Eyüp Aygün Tayşir is an associate professor at Marmara University, Istanbul. He is currently serving as the academic director of MSc in Social Projects Management at Marmara University, the Institute of Social Sciences. He obtained his PhD from Marmara University, Management department in 2010. He spent a year as a visiting researcher and instructor at Boston University between 2011 and 2012. His research interests include civil society, management of NGOs, history of civil society, history of management and management education. His works appeared in Journal of Transnational Management, METU Studies in Development, Istanbul University Journal of the School of Business Administration, Ankara University SBF Journal, and Journal of Management Research. He gave Introduction to Management courses at Boston University and Turkish Business Context, International Management, History of Management Thought and Research Methodology courses at Marmara University. In addition to his academic duties Dr. Tayşir is also an author. His first novel, named 4 Hane 1 Teslim, was published in 2016 (İletişim) and his short stories and critics on literature appeared in Varlık and İletişim Resimli Türkçe Edebiyat Takvimi (2018). In 2017 a Turkish newspaper, Hürriyet, mentioned Dr. Tayşir as one of the ten most promising author of Turkey. In 2016 Dr. Tayşir started a second PhD education at Boğaziçi University, the Atatürk Institute for Modern Turkish History and currently he writes his thesis on the political themes in millenials' novels in Turkey. At Harvard University, CMES, Dr. Tayşir is working on a research project on the establishment of Hamidiye Ticaret Mekteb-i Âlisi, which was the first higher education institute of the late-Ottoman period of Turkey in terms of trade and business administration educations.
