As a first year AM student, Liz is primarily interested in the network of proxy forces in Yemen’s civil war, specifically the use of African mercenary forces and co-opted migrants as force multipliers. Liz’s other interests include Arabic, French, and data analysis. She received her B.A. in Political Science and Near Eastern Studies from Indiana University, Bloomington where she focused on the phenomenon of foreign fighters. Liz has studied Arabic in Oman, taught English in Egypt, and worked in US immigration law.
