Badriyyah AlSabah is a first-year AM student in Middle East Studies, and was born and raised in Kuwait. She graduated from Smith college with a BA in Psychology and Religion and spent the last year working at UN Women in Cairo, doing research on political participation in the GCC and gender based violence in Islamic societies . She has previously worked at The Middle East Institute in D.C., and studied Farsi there. Her research interests also include sexuality, sociality, and feminism in Islam. During her time at Harvard, Badriyyah hopes to continue exploring themes of identity and belonging in Islam and furthering her research on Women and the GCC.
