Her research focuses on feminist security studies, critical cybersecurity, disinformation, and Middle Eastern politics. Mhajne serves on the Academic Council of American Friends of Combatants for Peace and the Board of Academics for Equality. She is the coeditor of *Critical Perspectives on Cybersecurity* (Oxford University Press, 2024). Her writing has been featured in academic journals, including *Global Studies Quarterly*, the *Journal of Human Rights*, the *Journal of Genocide Research*, the *Journal of Women, Politics, and Policy*, the *International Feminist Journal of Politics*, *Political Research Quarterly*, *Religion and Politics*.
