DESCRIPTION:<p><strong>The Center for Middle Eastern Studies </strong>is pleased to present</p><p><strong><drupal-media data-entity-type="media" data-entity-uuid="d16c1f77-702f-4d7d-82ea-2417fa7d827a" data-align="right" alt="Ahmed Khalid Towfik" data-view-mode="hwp_small"></drupal-media>Ahmed Khalid Towfik</strong><br>Egyptian novelist, author &amp; poet <!--break--></p><p>Former professor of medicine at Tanta University, Ahmed Khalid Towfik is the first Arab writer to explore the horror/science fiction genre and the first Arab writer to explore the medical thriller genre. His series <em>Fantasia</em> was a first of its kind; a plot that presents famous literary works to the youth, through an interactive presentation. <em>Fantasia</em> presented young Arab reader to a wide spectrum of topics, from Arthur Conan Doyle and Sikhism, to Dostoevsky and the Cosa Nostra. He is known to have a unique approach to writing, which seems to appeal to both Egyptian and Arab youth, making him a favorite among contemporary authors in the Middle East. Towfik was born in 1962 in the city of Tanta, Egypt.
