He was previously a Visiting Fellow at Harvard Law School, and at Cracow University of Economics. His first book <em>Between Muslims: Religious Difference in Iraqi Kurdistan </em>(Stanford, 2020) received the Biannual Book Award from the Association for Middle East Anthropology in 2022. Other work is published in <em>Journal of Middle East Women’s Studies</em> and <em>American Ethnologist</em>.
