Her PhD dissertation, completed at the department of Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies at NYU, examines the transition of Iranian drama from indigenous theatre to European-style playwriting in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and explains its role in transforming the society before, during, and after the Constitutional Revolution.
