#  Roger Owen receives grant from IQSS for book conference

 CMES Professor Roger Owen, A.J. Meyer Professor of Middle Eastern History, has been awarded a $10,000 grant from Harvard University’s Institute for Quantitative Social Sciences to hold a conference on his forthcoming book, *Presidents for Life: Monarcho/Presidential Republics and the Politics of Succession in the Arab World*. The funding comes from the Eric M. Mindich Encounters with Authors fund, which provides authors with the opportunity to present a major work still in progress. The conference, which will be held March 4, 2011, is by invitation only.
