##  Teaching Arabic as a Second Language: Level One Workshop

 **Workshop Time:** 13 – 17 January 2025, Daily from 9 am to 2 pm, Washington, DC time (EST)

 **Workshop Location:** Via Zoom

 **Workshop Tuition:** None

 **Workshop Language:** Arabic

 **Workshop Audience:** Priority for new, second-language Arabic instructors (5 years or fewer in the field), master's and doctoral students, or bachelor's degree students in their final year from outside the United States

 **Workshop Outcomes**

 At the end of the workshop, participants will be familiar with:

- General principles of learning Arabic a second language
- Vocabulary-learning strategies
- Grammar-learning Strategies
- Culture-learning Strategies
- Reading Strategies
- Writing Strategies
- Listening Strategies
- Speaking Strategies
- Communicative Language Classroom Management Strategies

 To join the workshop, please register by end of day, **Wednesday, 1 January 2025 (Washington, DC time, EST)**, by submitting:

- Short biography
- A statement in Arabic (100-500 words) explaining the applicant's philosophy re: teaching Arabic as a second/other language and their perspectives on language proficiency.
