This is the home of the Zabaleen – the city's community of traditional garbage collectors. Drawing Words and Writing Pictures CollageThis workshop for Harvard undergraduates offers students the opportunity to “translate” research, scholarship, and ideas into graphic  representations  such  as comics, collage, and sequential art.  Students will be invited to learn and draw inspiration from contemporary modes of Islamicate art which play with the boundaries between word and image, including graphic novels and “calligraffiti.”  No artistic experience is necessary....
