Visiting Scholar, Center for Middle Eastern Studies, Harvard University; Assistant Professor, Hacettepe University, Turkey Thirteen years on, in the year 2024 the Syrian crisis is still unfolding as a protracted conflict. Meanwhile, millions of Syrians have sought protection in the neighbouring countries. The Republic of Türkiye hosts the highest number of asylum seekers, followed by the Lebanese Republic, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Republic of Iraq and the Arab Republic of Egypt. This discussion aims to share some general observations about the Syrian population's access to the Turkish Healthcare System with a concentration on the COVID-19 pandemic period and its immediate aftermath.
