She is currently *Emeritus* Professor of Political Economy at Boğaziçi University and an affiliate of the Boğaziçi University research center Social Policy Forum which she co-founded in 2004. She has taught and published in the areas of history and methodology of economics, development studies, comparative social policy, and socio-economic history of modern Turkey. She is currently working on a forthcoming book entitled *Social Policy in Capitalist History: Perspectives on Poverty, Work and Society*. Ayşe Buğra is a member of the Science Academy Society, Turkey.
