Visiting Scholar, Center for Middle Eastern Studies, Harvard University Dr. Poyraz is a Full Professor of Media Studies at Ankara University, Faculty of Communication. Her main interests have been the, social memory, cultural identity of Alevis, gender studies, Alevi massacres, especially the Dersim 38 Tertele (Massacre) which is the biggest massacre in the history of the Turkish Republic. At Harvard University's CMES, Dr. Poyraz is undertaking a research project on the historical perspective of the Dersim 38 Tertele (Massacre).
