**Will Day,** PhD Candidate in Anthropology & Middle Eastern Studies

This thesis analyzes everyday talk about "livelihood" or the challenges of work and getting by among displaced Kurds in the city of Diyarbakir, Turkey. It is argued that this talk is not only about how to make a living and pay the bills but about the kinds of politics Kurds are subjected to at this time in their history.
