Professor of Arab and Global History; Fellow, St. John's College, Cambridge University Andrew Arsan is Professor of Arab and Global History in the Faculty of History, University of Cambridge. A historian of the modern and contemporary Middle East, he is the author of two books, the prize-winning *Interlopers of Empire: The Lebanese Diaspora in French West Africa* (2014) and *Lebanon: A Country in Fragments* (2018), a study of post-2005 Lebanon. Andrew’s new book, "Unfinished Revolution: Journeys through the Arab Twentieth Century", a new political and intellectual history of the Arab world centring on changing ideas of freedom, will appear with Basic and Allen Lane in 2025.
