 [Lauren Stokes](https://history.northwestern.edu/people/faculty/core-faculty/lauren-stokes.html) is an Assistant Professor of History at Northwestern University, where she teaches classes on German history and migration history. Her book *Fear of the Family: Guest Workers and Family Reunification in the Federal Republic of Germany* will come out in 2022 with Oxford University Press.
