Due to travel restrictions connected with COVID-19, we will not be offering any funding for remote or international internships, research, or language studies for January 2021; summer funding for 2021 is still being determined.
The Center for Middle Eastern Studies at Harvard University announces travel research grants per winter term and summer research for Harvard students (undergraduate or graduate, any school) engaging in research in the Arabian Peninsula (Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, Yemen, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman). The application requires a proposal (maximum 750 word), budget, letter of recommendation from Harvard professor, and unofficial transcript (from most recent university if first year graduate student). Winter term funding is capped at $3,000.
UPDATE: No summer funding is available Summer 2020 for the Arabian Peninsula Research Travel Grants.
Applications for winter funding 2020 are due October 18, 2019.
Upon the completion of the study sponsored by this grant, the student is required to present a two- to five-page report on their study/research, to Dr. Granara at the Center for Middle Eastern Studies, including an accounting of how the funds were spent.
