Keye Tersmette is a scholar of Oman focusing on popular experiences of Omani politics. He has a particular interest in theories of governance, politics from below, and the role of the younger generations of Omanis in contemporary Omani politics and society. He received his MA cum laude in Modern Middle Eastern Studies from Leiden University.  Keye first visited Oman in 2011-2012 as part of his BA Hons in Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Cambridge and returned in spring 2015 to carry out preliminary research for his PhD in Anthropology and Middle Eastern Studies. He is fluent in Modern Standard Arabic and in his own amalgam of Omani dialects (occasionally amusing his Omani friends).
