Kathryn A. Schwartz
Kathryn researches the material and intellectual history of manuscript and print production in 19th century Ottoman Cairo. Her dissertation is entitled "Meaningful Mediums: A Material and Intellectual History of Manuscript and Print Production in Nineteenth Century Ottoman Cairo." She has taught courses on state politics in the modern Middle East (Hist 1891), gender and religion (CB 41), and global history (Hist 1465). Kathryn holds a B.A. and M.A. in Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies from King's College, University of Cambridge, and an M.A. and PhD in History and Middle Eastern Studies from Harvard University.
